I was so tired yesterday and slept throughout the nite. Woke up early morning as i need to follow my brother in law to his working place to cook some dishes for my nephew's birthday picnic at Ruffey Lake Park. Hubby followed along too and we were basically doing all the cuttings and washing and watching and also food tasting. Hehehehehe!! Oh Yah...we also stopped by Richmond to do some grocery shopping and Hubby and I bought a few packets of instant noodle which we can't find in Malaysia..cos it's non-halal...slurps! (Nic: Look at the catalogue i posted and make your orders. AUD65 cents ++ (handling charges, fuel charges, etc) per packet, subject to luggage space availability)

Lots of kids at the party. HH had great fun...and lots of presents for him too. And guess what?? Suddenly i saw many many people heading my way...all with doggies. And all with the same breed....KING CHARLES CAVALIER SPANIEL (Nic, you will go crazy like me if you were here). I walked over to pat pat some of them...aiyooo...super cute. And it turned out that these people meets every first Saturday of the month and i was also invited to join in at their next gathering. Yah yah, how i wish. I decided not to have a Beagle as my next dog...i want King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. What i like about Australia is the passion they have for doggies. Melbourne SO SO SUITS ME leh!!

Met up with Sis Viv, Bro Leslie and Glendy tonite...and we went to Boxhill to have Korean cuisine. They brought us there once during one of our visits, and hubby loves it so much so they decided to bring us there once again. Nice nice.

Am heading to Rosebud tomorrow for 2 nights stay...so no updates till i come back. Cheers

flen....i bet you going crazy looking at all the doggies...but u say your peee is the best kan.....i know you

HH birthday food looks yummy....especially the dumpling, squid and chee cheong fun....learn the recipe ok.... later can cook for me

Went to Richmond for Vietnamese Pho (Beef Rice Noodle Soup).......super yummy. Soup was fantastic!! After that we headed to Hoeh Hoeh's Nursery to celebrate his birthday with his frens. So cute leh......especially Laura, the blonde girl who hugged and kissed Hoeh Hoeh...hahaha. After the party, we headed to Westfield Shopping Centre for some coffee. Went to Esprit shop and saw some nice bags...nice nice nice...but sis said wait till we go Esprit warehouse.

After that we headed home to rest. Chung Gor, my brother-in law brought back salmon sashimi for dinner. Yummzzz....the salmon was really good and also guess what? Chung Gor bought 5 dozens of Tasmanian OYSTERS!!! 5 DOZENS!! So we had half raw and half steamed with garlic.

Hoeh Hoeh was very very attached to me. Whenever i ask him who is the best?? Without hesitation, he will said Yi Yi is da best And he cried when he couldn't find me (i was in the toilet) and tot i went home. So sweet isn't it??

er if i remember correctly someone told me that she's NOT goin to spend $$$ in Melbourne ... not buying stuff just eat abalones, play with Hoeh2 and Leon and relax only but please remember to look out some nice Esprit bag for me as well ya thanks gurl Sat 2-Dec-2006 08:32

Arrived in Melbourne at 8 a.m. this morning. Flight was okay, managed to sleep for a couple of hours. When we arrived, Hoeh Hoeh (my beloved nephew) spotted me from far far away........and he loudly called out "YI YI" and then ran towards me. So sweet. He was so excited to see me. Of course, he was even more excited to receive his goodies from me. Hehehe...right now he is watching Open Season which i bought for him.

We stopped over Preston Market to get some fruits. Once we reached home, Hubby immediately spotted 3 boxes of big big abalones defrosting at the kitchen sink. YUMMMMZZZ.....

Post some photos i took for the first 2 hours in Melbourne. More later....

2nd Visit to One Noodle

Appetiser: Marinated Baby Octupus
Szechuan Brinjals
Stewed Beef & Tendon with White Radish
View all 4 photos...
Hubby and I went to One Noodle in SS2 for dinner....we visited this place once, i think about 2 months ago. Yah...definately 2 months ago cos i remembered i was coughing my lungs out. Coincidently, my cough is back so this visit i too was coughing my lungs out. Anyway...from our first visit, we already spotted one item in their menu....STEWED BEEF WITH WHITE RADISH!!! Hubby loves stewed beef...and i knew he was going to order this. We ordered two other dishes, Szechuan Eggplants/Brinjals (or whatever my dear colleague Ms Chia called it)....and also Lou Shui Duck/Chic Combo. The Duck/Chic combo so-so only...basically tasteless....this i must proudly admit, can cook much much better than theirs.

Bubur Katak @ Froggy Congee

Marinated Froggy
Plain Congee
Tada............nice or not?
View all 5 photos...
Hubby and I went to the wet market this morning. Felt like having some nice smooth congee...and then we walked passed this stall selling paddy frog. Actually it was a very horrifying sight...all the froggies cramped in a cage and some of them are injured. Luckily we skipped the killing part, so cruel and mean, and am not going into details here.

Went home and i boiled the congee...smooth and nice. Then i chopped the froggy into smaller pieces and marinated it with ginger, sesame oil, soya sauce and pepper. When the congee is bubbling hot, i poured it the froggy, close the lid and off the fire. End result?? Yummzz....DELICIOUS!

Happy 71st Birthday to my Old Man!!!

Bun...'airflight quality"
Papa attacking the butter instead of the bun
Garlic Toasts...this is nice
View all 22 photos...
Today is my papa's Big 71st birthday. So old oledi huh? Although he doesn't admit being 'old'..hehe. Few days ago i asked him to choose a place for dinner...and he said why not try out "The Ship". It has been ages since we last visited this place. When i said 'ages', if not mistaken, it's definately more than 15 years ago. And Papa always say want to try out The Ship everytime we drove past that area. So, why not? It's his birthday anyway, his choice! God sis also came back to have dinner with us..and she bought a cake too. So nice of her.

When we walked in, I was sooooo surprised!! It's Thursday nite and the place is packed!!!!! Either everyone is celebrating something today or people are getting so rich that they can afford to have dinner at this kind of place. But many people means food is good rite??

Menu was impressive...price wise also impressive but still within my affordable range. Haha!!
For appetiser, we ordered garlic toasts....not too bad...but by the time i finish my toast, i was already half full. Papa and hubby ordered cream of chic and mushroom soup. God-sis asked if the soup is nice and whether it's Campbell soup. So i took one spoonful of hubby's soup...and this was what i replied.."Ooohh...definately not Campbell...cos Campbell tastes SO MUCH NICER!!!"

My dad who always claimed he can't eat beef and prawns due to his skin problem ordered something very contrary to his belief tonite. He ordered "NEPTUNE TAURUS DELIGHT" which comes with a piece of steak and 2 grilled prawns served on a sizzling plate. Smells really good when they served..steak was tender but it's charbroiled. I prefers it to be grilled...more aromatic that way. Anyway..he enjoyed it..so why i complain?

Complain also complain my own order. Ok...i ordered this Grillled Seafood Platter!!! Grrrr...the menu said that it comes with a grilled prawn, grilled squid, fish, crab stick and deep fried scallop. And when my order was served... i kena tipu!!! Apart from the grilled prawn and 2 pieces of squids, the rest was breaded and deep-fried!!!!!! I am still suffering from a bad bad cough...so i only finished the prawn and one piece of squid (the other piece i gave to hubby). And as always..my dad wallop watever i couldn't finish....hehe, very reliable MBPJ!

My God-sis ordered Fillet Steak...err...not impressive..cos it was cold so the waiter took it back to reheat. According to her, the beef doesn't have the grilled taste...basically tasteless. And GOSH!!! How can they give mixed veggies as sidedish?? It's so..err...sooo...err...CHEAP!!!!! Meanwhile, Hubby ordered grilled tiger prawns....errr....prawns doesn't have the springy feeling, another failed dish.

Total damage???? RM180!! Somemore gave us two vouchers for 2 free cocktails on our next visit. Next visit?? NO WAY!!!

Warm-up: My first round....
YM's first plate
View all 35 photos...
First of all, a big thank you to Pam for discovering this wonderful place called Shin Nichi at Wisma Antarabangsa. Somemore with your membership card, we get 10% off. ''

The buffet spread was really good. Few varieties of sashimi and lots and lots of OYSTERS!! Juicy and big. I dunno how many we had...we lost count after a few rounds..but definately worth more than the amount we paid for the lunch. Wuahaha!!! Quality of food was excellent. The presentation of their sushi can knock off Sushi King and Genki BIG TIME!! Too bad they don't allow us to take photos....sigh...actually we doing free promo for them merr...dun understand why we not allowed to take...hmmppphhh!!!

I skipped the hot food section entirely...cos i want to stuff myself with sashimi. Kiasu isn't it? I also skipped the tempura session as i was having a bad cough. Variety not bad...worth trying. Pam said so much better than Shogun. The crowd also very nice and polite...no fighting for food kind of nonsense. ICHIBAN-neh!! ''

Pam, should do it again soon yah??!! Kanpai!! ''

AYEE!!!! KANPAI!!!!!!!!!!

Super yumzzzzz hor... Wa lieu.... I think about it oso feel like going again... hahahahha!!!!! Very very worth the $$$$$

Glad u guys enjoyed it oso.....

Moody Weekend (Part III) - Cheddar Cheese Loaf

The ingredients
Combine sugar and butter
Blend it well...
View all 10 photos...
3 years ago, my former manager, Ms SS gave me a bakery book for my birthday. Each time i will just flipped the pages and drooled over it and never take any initiatives to try out the recipe. Until recently, hubby brought back an electric oven for me. So i chose the simplest recipe...but then my mum always used to say, never trust those recipe 100%. People are selfish...they would never share the original recipe with you. How true...half way making, i found out that the amount of flour seems like a lot...and my batter is getting with hard. I quickly put in some evaporated milk to moisten it.....smart eh? It was nice when hot...but turn out a bit oily after overnight. Nevertheless, my dad and hubby loves it!

wah..sedapnya... Tue 14-Nov-2006 03:44
