A Day Before We Go Back Home
|
|
HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT! Weather forecast for today is max 37degree!!! GOSH!! Bro-in-law said it reached 41 degree. Crazy!!! Luckily the smoke from the bushfire blocked the sun a little bit...but it was very warm and hazy. Well....we oledi get used to the haze in Malaysia so no big deal.
Met up with Ann and Kuen for yumcha at Sharks Fin House. After that, we went to Crown Casino for a game or two...no luck today! It was so hot that i totally forgotten to take any photos. Sis came to pick us after that and went to Richmond to do some last minute shopping. I guess with the heat like today, we just want to laze around in the house...hot hot hot!
HH did a funny thing today. We were all playing chor tai ti in the living room and HH went to see his mummy's card and this is what he said "Mummy, you got two 2s". Hahahahahahaha!!! I asked HH, "Somemore? What other cards? Got As?".

Bro-in-law and sis brought me to a chinese restaurant in Toorak Rd, South Yarra. Used to be a Malaysian restaurant and now taken over and business was really good. Luckily we made booking as we can see so many people outside waiting for tables. Food was good too...simple one of the best roast duck i ever had. Everybody enjoyed the dinner..and HH just couldn't get enuff of the spring onions that comes with the steamed fish. Tell me la, where to find a 4 y.o. boy who likes to eat pungent food like garlic, onions and spring onions?????

My Birthday!!
|
|
Hip Hip Hooray!!!
It's my birthday today and HH gave me a big big kiss when he woke me up in the morning. Well...it's his job to wake us up every morning by jumping on us.
Today's itinerary is more berries picking at Yarra Valley. Went to this place called "Blue Hills Berries & Cherries" which offers pick-ur-own strawberries, raspberries, boysenberries, youngberries, blackberries, loganberries and cherries. Aiyer...i was hoping for blueberries and they don't have it. Anyway...we had great fun and this farm is really really really huge!
Headed to a small town called Olinda to have coffee and cake before going home. Tonite my bro-in-law is bringing me out for dinner in South Yarra..my birthday dinner Will brag about it in my next entry.

Dinner at Home...
|
|
Bro-in-law bought 6 dozens of Tasmanian fresh oysters for dinner. Yummy yummm yummm…so fresh and succulent and hubby had 40 pieces of oysters!!! I had about a dozen plus…….yummy yummy yummy!! Surprisingly, I don’t get any food poisoning here…even the milk I had here didn’t upset my lactose intolerant tummy. More and more reason I should settle in Melbourne huh?
After dinner, we all walked to the nearby park…needless to say, HH was the happiest! Managed to see the neighbour’s Bichon Frise which I fondly named as Tai Tao (Big Head). During my uni days, whenever I walked home and passed the neighbour house, he will sure greets me with non-stop barking. And he did the same this time…so lovable.
Also took some nice pictures of flowers on the way to the park.

So fast, it's Thursday oledi...
|
|
Still remember last Thursday, i was looking forward to this Melb trip and now.....2 more days i will be flying back home. HH said i can't go home....i can foresee both of us will be crying at the airport, especially he is so attached to me now.
Today we went to the City, had lunch at bro-in-law's working place in Docklands. Veli nice environment and food was delicious. After lunch, we went for a walk in Direct Factory Outlet (DFO), newly opened in the City. It's not as big as the one i went yesterday...don't even have Esprit shop..duh!! Only bought a fondue set...nice. Now i can make chocolate fondue at home. Cely, you wanna join me?
Am cooking dinner tonite for my bro-in-law...it was a special request. Bro-in-law said my cooking not too bad too...wahh....giving me pressure. Will take photos and post up pic of my dinner tonite.

We left Rosebud around 12 noon.....a bit sad to leave the place. It's such a nice and peaceful town...i like i like! Maybe when hubby retired then we can live in Rosebud...wishing hard
Stopped by Brandsmart at Nunawading for lunch. It's a small factory outlet...but my main target is only Esprit. Hehehe...Esprit bags are much more cheaper in Australia but didn't find any that i like.
Went home to rest....it was a veli veli hot day today...about 33 degree. We had dinner at a nearby Chinese Restaurant...not too bad. Serving is so big! Papa said Malaysia's serving is not for human, it's for cat. I think he didn't realise he was being served cat food all this while. Wuahahaha

Rosebud ~ Day 2
|
|
After having our bacon and egg breakfast (hubby's fav), we headed to Lowanville Farm for berries picking. However, the farm is not open during the weekdays but the lady owner was kind enuff to bring us around her farm. Sampled some of her freshly picked raspberries too...nice! Hubby said it's not nice not to buy anything since she is so friendly so he bought a box of raspberries.
Next, we headed to "Ripe N Ready" Cherry Farm. This place is huge, 24 acres to be exact! Hubby, HH and i went in as sis and papa decided to wait in the car. We were so excited to see whole tree fully of ripe cherries and it's dark red...sweet and crunchy. We had lots and lots of cherries, just pop and put into your mouth. We bought wat we plucked at AUD10 per kilos. Real satisfaction!!
My brother in law joined us for lunch. We went to Red Hill Estate and food was good with spectacular view. Everybody enjoyed the food. It was my treat for my recent promotion...hehehe
After that we headed home for some rest before preparing a very costly and yummy dinner. My brother in law bought a big lobster and a snowcrab for early celebration of my birthday!!! So nice of him isn't it? Menu for the dinner is Lobster and Salmon sashimi as appetizer, followed by shark fins soup, then abalone, snowcrab cooked with abalone stock and lastly, lobster porridge. A very very satisfying dinner.

Woke up early morning to send HH to his tennis class. Shortest among all the students but he was so cute and he didn't miss a ball. Smart eh?
On the way to Rosebud, we stopped by Springvale for lunch. Had Vietnamese Pho again. Yummy...nice! So happy to be back to Rosebud! Such a peaceful quiet town..and the beach is only 35m from the house. How cool is that???? After dropping off our bags, we headed to Sunny Ridge Strawberry Farm. It was packed with tourist. Entrance fee was AUD2 per person and you pick your own strawberries at AUD12 per kilo. We accidentally walked into the 'no entry' area and the strawberries there were gigantic..and many people starts come towards the area..so who cares?
We picked more than 3 kilos ...how to eat ar?
After that headed back home to rest and after dinner, hubby and I headed to the jetty to see people fish. So nice so nice.
